Rydova provides a voluntary 2-year warranty from receipt on scooters purchased from Rydova. This warranty supplements and does not restrict statutory rights relating to defects.
1. Warranty coverage
Rydova is the warrantor and contact throughout the full two years. Any manufacturer’s warranty applies additionally under the manufacturer’s separate terms.
Verifiable material and manufacturing defects during intended use are covered.
2. Requirements and documentation
For assessment, the product must have been used according to the manual and manufacturer specifications. This includes observing maximum load, suitable terrain, proper maintenance, correct charging and appropriate storage.
The product should generally remain in its original factory condition. Unauthorised software or hardware tampering, tuning, changes to the controller, BMS, wiring, display, battery housing or safety-related parts may exclude voluntary warranty service to the extent they caused or influenced the claimed defect.
Please document the defect with photos or videos, where this helps demonstrate the defect. A video is not required in every case. An unboxing video is not required for a warranty claim. For transport damage, photos of packaging and shipping label are helpful.
If you cannot photograph or film the defect, describe it and contact us for further assessment. Statutory rights relating to defects remain unaffected.
3. Not covered by the warranty
The voluntary warranty does not cover normal wear or damage unrelated to a material or manufacturing defect. This includes in particular:
- Tyres, inner tubes, brake pads, brake discs and other wear parts under normal wear
- Scratches, dents, paint damage, discolouration and other cosmetic signs of use
- Damage from falls, accidents, collisions or overloading
- Damage from unsuitable terrain, misuse or failure to follow the manual
- Water or moisture damage outside the manufacturer’s specifications
- Damage from incorrect chargers, deep discharge, short circuits, overvoltage or unsuitable storage
- Damage resulting from unauthorised repairs, modifications, tuning or tampering
4. Battery
Capacity loss in a lithium-ion battery due to age and use is technically normal and alone is not a warranty case. Charge and store the battery as instructed by the manufacturer. Deep discharge, unsuitable chargers or incorrect charging or storage temperatures may exclude voluntary warranty coverage if they caused the defect.
Do not continue charging or using a battery that swells, becomes unusually hot, smells unusual or shows visible damage.
5. Reporting a warranty claim
Stop use immediately if a defect affects safety or may cause further damage. Send your report to support@rydova.ch.
Include the order number, model and a precise description of the defect. Add photos or videos as described in section 2 and the serial number if available. The time the issue first occurred and current mileage are also helpful. State whether repairs or modifications have already been made.
6. Assessment and handling
Rydova assesses each case individually and may request more information or return of the product. Once a warranty claim is confirmed, an appropriate solution is provided according to the defect, for example:
- Supply of spare parts
- Repair instructions
- Repair after return
- Product replacement
- Credit or refund if repair or replacement is not reasonably possible
The specific solution depends on the defect, technical feasibility and applicable law.
7. Costs
The voluntary warranty is handled through Rydova during both years. The buyer is informed before any chargeable measures. If assessment finds no warranty case, any inspection, shipping or repair costs are charged only after appropriate information or agreement.
8. Warranty period after repair or replacement
Repair or replacement of individual parts does not generally restart the original warranty period. The original delivery date remains decisive unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
9. Misuse
Voluntary warranty service may be refused in cases of demonstrably false information, manipulated evidence or deliberately caused damage. Rydova reserves further legal action in cases of fraud or abuse.
